Rating by category:
Was there for one night, staff very friendly, uncomplicated check in and out, good food and breakfast and a small Pub inside hotel as well.
Staff were helpful and hotel was clean, the breakfast was adequate.
Staff were friendly and the room clean. The location is good for the local countryside and convenient for the railway station.
I would classify the hotel as 2-3 star. Comfortable without having any wow factor. An 'average' type of hotel. The room was adequate for one night but not a lot of room for a longer stay.
Hotel a lot better than we thought .Read reviews before hand ( not very good)Looks like somebody new has just bought the hotel and started to re decorate ..Once this is done will be a nice hotel.Food good
Friendly staff, couldn't do enough for us. Rooms a little unusual with a window in the ceiling, the ventilation and blind have easy to use remote controls. The rooms were warm and comfortable( -2oC outside).
Food was of a "pub" standard - good, filling but expensive for what it was. Beds were comfortable
Big, bleak, barren - very few other guests - dined alone with only one other family group on a Friday night. Limited menu although well cooked. Bedroom although large with high ceilings had only one tiny framed print on the walls, cobwebs on the chandelier, black mould around the bath. Very worn carpeting throughout the hotel. Very dated throughout.
Was all genrally good.
efficient booking in and olut
tables too low to eat in the bar
lovely location friendly atmosphere and meet our needs
poor water circulation in our room, and needs a bit of refurbishment to bring it up to date.
Good location close to the town centre, good car parking, spare plugs for computer, desk to work at, helpful staff.
not sure if secure wi-fi was available, a key feature for business users.
I have to say that I really enjoyed my evening meal. Delicious and plenty of it.
Unfortunately, I came down to breakfast at 7.10 am and by 7.35 I had to leave without my meal as I had an appointment. But I think 25 minutes should have been more than adequate to put a breakfast plate on the table. Please note that they took it off the bill.
Good facilities in room and very good breakfast - only stayed 1 night.
The only thing good about this hotel is the location.
The room was very basic and much in need of an upgrade. The price was far too much for the basic standard of accomodation and there is a complete lack of atmosphere in the bar and restuarant.
Hotel was quiet and staff were pleasant while efficient and food was to a reasonable standard.
The worst bed in living memory
